A number of probable release dates for new graphics cards have been revealed by the embargo document for the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 Super series that has appeared online. According to the leaks, Nvidia is expected to present three new RTX 40 Super cards shortly after their talk at CES 2024.
One of the leading producers of graphics cards globally, Nvidia offers PC gamers a lot of features with its most recent model, which is the RTX 40 series, including hardware-accelerated ray tracing, DLSS 3.5, and Nvidia Reflex. While the RTX 4090's 12VHPWR connector continues to create problems, Nvidia's mid-range RTX 4070 and 4080 cards use less board power overall, so there may be room for improvement in terms of performance. It is rumoured that Nvidia may not be done with the RTX 40 series just yet in 2023. It is said that upcoming Super versions will provide more performance at a price point that is similar to that of their non-Super counterparts. Additionally, there have been hints of an announcement at CES 2023; the most recent leak disclosed the precise release dates for the new Super cards.
A leaked document that Videocards was able to obtain revealed several release dates for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Super, 4070 Ti Super, and 4080 Super graphics cards. Firstly, it says that the graphics cards will be revealed during Nvidia's Special Address at CES 2024 on 8th January 2024, at 9:00 AM PT. The RTX 4070 Super unboxing embargo lifts that same day at 2:00 PM PT, and the 4070 Super review embargo lifts one week later on 16th January at 6:00 AM PT. If the leak is true, the RTX 4070 Super is expected to go on sale on 17th January at 6:00 AM PT. The dates for the release of the RTX 4070 Ti Super and RTX 4080 Super are 24th January and 31st January respectively. However, it is still unknown what the MSRP and AIB of the new cards are.
According to rumours, the RTX 4070 Super and 4070 Ti Super cards will perform on average 14-15% better than the RTX 4070 and 4070 Ti non-Super cards. The RTX 4080 Super will also perform three to five percent better than the original RTX 4080. With the exception of the 16GB RTX 4070 Ti Super, all of the new Super graphics cards will continue to use the same G6X video memory as their original models.
Since retailers are clearing out inventory to make room for the newer Super cards, Nvidia's RTX 4070 cards should see a price drop. The RTX 40 Super series is expected to be released at a price that is either slightly more or similar to the base RTX 40 series cards. However, the exact price of the new cards are still unknown.
