The immensely successful Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan is getting ready for an exciting expansion which will include a brand new area, which is influenced by one of the most well known Nintendo titles.

The Donkey Kong Country area opens in the spring of 2024. Visitors can “Go Wild” and enjoy themselves in the world of the well-known video game franchise. This will also give access to an advanced roller coaster ride, interactive experiences, and plenty of exclusive merchandise.

Donkey Kong Country

Guests will enter the Donkey Kong Country through a warp pipe in Super Nintendo World which will transport them to the lush jungles seen in the popular games.There are many recognizable sights and sounds, such as Funky Kong's plane, DK Bongo's,and a golden temple rising above the ground. The huge area is about 1.7 times larger than the entire Super Mario area of Super Nintendo World! Similar to the game, guests can collect the letters K, O, N, and G by playing interactive minigames with Power Up Bands!

In addition to the Power-Up Bands from Super Nintendo World, new Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong bands will be available in the new area. The Donkey Kong Country video game series, which started in 1994 with Donkey Kong Country has grown to include five mainline games, and it serves as an inspiration for the new Donkey Kong area in Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan.

On 5th december in a press conference, Universal Studios Japan revealed that Donkey Kong Country would open. Minecart Madness, a modern rollercoaster created in collaboration with Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto, will also be available in Donkey Kong Country. Universal Creative has created a fresh and inventive coaster design that differs from conventional ideas of rides and attractions, providing an unpredictable experience.

A preview of some of the exciting new merchandise that will be available at the new Donkey Kong area has been made available by Universal Studios Japan. In addition to standard merchandise, brand-new Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong Power-Up bands will also be available.
