Fortnite Chapter 5 seems to be bringing one of the most eagerly awaited partnerships in the game's history: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT). Although it has not been confirmed yet, there is supporting evidence such as abundance of new content that the chapter 5 patch added to the game and the two details that were revealed in the season trailer.

The trailer shows a glowing manhole cover, which drew everyone's attention because Turtle resides in sewers. Later on, the trailer ends with a copyright notice from Viacom, which is the parent company of Paramount Pictures and the owner of the TMNT brand. Thankfully, we have even more proof as Fortnite dataminers have had a chance to examine the Chapter 5 files.

After actually playing a few matches in Chapter 5, it is seen that the manholes currently work similarly to the old portal restrooms. You jump in one and emerge from another manhole a short distance away. Although that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the TMNT, dataminers have found a TMNT lair in the files that you will eventually be able to access through TMNT-branded manholes. So yes, the manholes are TMNT-related.

As Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is owned by Paramount, many fans hoped that a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles partnership would happen after Fortnite and Paramount Pictures collaborated on Transformers: Rise of the Beasts in June. However, expectations lowered when the newest TMNT theatrical release happened in August and Fortnite hosted a Jujutsu Kaisen event to wrap up the summer.

As there is no official announcement on this collaboration yet, it is not possible to predict when it will start. However, if the TMNT-related Viacom copyright in the trailer is true, it should start this season.
