Gen.G Rebuilds Its LoL Roster Around Chovy For 2024 LCK Season

Gen.G has re-signed its star mid laner Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon for the upcoming 2024 season. Breaking the silence after days of speculation, Gen.G's announcement on 29th November unveiled not only Chovy's contract renewal but also a strategic lineup revamp.

Players: 

  •  Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon (Mid Lane) 
  •  Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu (Jungle)

  •  Kim “Kiin” Gi-in (Top Lane) 
  •  Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan (Bot Lane)

The anticipation surrounding Gen.G's roster reveal intensified following the departure announcements on 21st November, which included Chovy's temporary exit, alongside top laner Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon, jungler Han “Peanut” Wang-ho, and support Yoo “Delight” Hwan-joong. The organization also bid farewell to head coach Go “Score” Dong-bin and his assistants Won “Mafa” Sang-yeon and Kim “Museong” Moo-seong.

Despite a commendable performance in 2023, securing victories in the LCK Spring and Summer Splits, Gen.G faced setbacks at the Mid-Season Invitational and the World Championship. Opting for a strategic shift, the organization chose to part ways with key players, setting the stage for a fresh narrative in 2024.
