Azure Ray has undergone a massive transformation in its Dota 2 roster. Departures from the formidable trio—Lu "Somnus" Yao, Yang "Chalice" Shenyi, and Xu "fy" Linsen—marked the end of an era. The organization cited personal wishes as the catalyst for this change, opening the door for a fresh infusion of talent.

The void left by the departing legends is now filled by an 'X' trio, ushering in a new era for Azure Ray. Guo "Xm" Hongcheng, Zhao "XinQ" Zixing, and Lin "Xxs" Jing bring not only ample experience but also a reservoir of skill to elevate Azure Ray's standing. Notably, Xm's commitment is magnified as he joins the team without a salary, demonstrating a dedication beyond the ordinary.

Adding strategic depth to the lineup is the arrival of Wang "Liekkas" Yutian as the new coach, succeeding Zhang "LaNm" Zhicheng. Liekkas, a former player turned coach, last steered Xtreme Gaming in 2022, injecting a wealth of expertise into Azure Ray's coaching staff.

Following is Azure Ray’s Dota 2 roster:

  • Lou “Lou” Zhen
  • Guo “Xm” Hongcheng
  • Lin “Xxs” Jing
  • Zhao “XinQ” Zixing
  • Jiang “tiān mìng” An
  • Wang "Liekkas" Yutian (coach)

Each player brings a unique skill set, promising a formidable force in the upcoming ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023. The addition of Liekkas as the coach adds a strategic dimension that could prove pivotal in their quest for glory.

Azure Ray took to Weibo to express gratitude to the departing trio and Coach LaNm, acknowledging their pivotal roles in the team's meteoric rise. Within a short period since their formation in May 2023, Azure Ray defied skeptics by securing a spot in the Bali Major 2023 (7th-8th place) and clinching a remarkable fourth-place finish at The International 12 (TI12).
