Dragon's Dogma 2 is expected to be released on March 22, 2024, as announced by Capcom. A fifteen-minute livestream, showcasing some of the new features Dragon's Dogma 2's developer added was recently posted.

Dragon's Dogma 2 has been in development for more than a year, but Capcom hasn't given much information about it during that period. As a result, fans of the 2012 original game made wild guesses about what the game might include when it came out based on hearsay, leaks, and little information that Capcom occasionally released. This includes the Saudi Arabian ratings board assigning an age rating to Dragon's Dogma 2.

Thankfully, a lot of information regarding the gameplay and story of Dragon's Dogma 2 was made public during Capcom's showcase. The hosts of the showcase, Hideaki Itsuno and Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, explained that the similarity between Dragon's Dogma 2 and the original game is due to the fact that the two games are set in a parallel universe. The human kingdom of Vermund and the Beastren nation of Battahl are the two nations whose plots will be involved with the Arisen in the game.

Regarding the gameplay, the showcase disclosed that Dragon's Dogma 2 will feature a brand-new, support-focused profession called "Trickster," which will be available only to the Arisen. The Arisen's vocation requires them to wield a censer, summon illusions that their enemies can attack, and use smoke to buff their pawns in battle. In its later section, it also demonstrated that it is possible to play as a Beastren Arisen, as demonstrated by the showcase's display of a Beastren Arisen growling to attract the attention of a drake. The game also features elves, many of whom will speak in their own language, which the Arisen is unable to understand. But if there's a Pawn nearby who knows Elvish, he or she can act as a translator and help them talk to each other.

During the showcase, Itsuno and Hirabayashi stated that Dragon's Dogma 2 is undergoing "final adjustments" and Capcom is planning to release the game on March 22, 2024. Fans won't have to wait much longer to play the game and fight with its new monsters, like headless, sickle-wielding Dullahan and humanoid titan Talos.
