Astralis is a well known Danish Esports organisation. In addition to their Counter-Strike 2 squad, which is their most well-known squad, they also have teams that play FIFA, League of Legends, and Rainbow Six Siege. The Astralis Group, the parent company of Astralis, was in charge of managing Future F.C. and Origen prior to the merger of all Astralis teams under one banner. Astralis Group, which trades under the ticker Nasdaq Copenhagen: Astralis group became the first esports organisation to conduct an initial public offering . With four Major Championships, Astralis's CS:GO squad has the most victories overall.
On 19th January 2018, Astralis joined the ELEAGUE Major in the United States,where the playoffs were held in Boston and the group stages were held in Atlanta. Kjaerbye abruptly left Astralis in February to join North. Thankfully, Astralis was able to sign Emil "Magisk" Reif a few days later, saving them from having to scramble to find a fifth player. This Started an incredible ascent to the summit and dominance of the Counter-Strike scene.They were defeated 3–0 in a best-of-five series by FaZe Clan in the grand final at IEM Sydney 2018, but they recovered to win the trophy at the ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals, where they easily defeated FaZe Clan and defeated Team Liquid 3–1. After losing to Natus Vincere in the semi-finals of ESL One: Cologne 2018, they went on to win trophies at the ECS Season 5 Finals and ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018.
At FACEIT Major: London 2018, Astralis won their second Major title. They defeated Team Liquid, FaZe Clan, and Natus Vincere in the playoffs with ease and without losing a single map. They continued their dominance over the scene just six days later when, following an undefeated 5–0 group stage, they defeated MIBR 2–1 in the BLAST Pro Series Istanbul 2018 grand final.
They won their third major title at IEM Katowice Major 2019. After defeating Complexity Gaming, Cloud9, and Renegades with a convincing 3-0 score in the New Legends stage, they advanced to the New Champions stage. After that, they breezed through the New Champions phase, defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas, MIBR, and ENCE to win the Major. Astralis fielded Es3tag against Gla1ve, Dev1ce, Magisk, and Dupreeh in October 2020 in an attempt to win the ESL Pro League S12 group stages six times in a row. Astralis' coach Zonic won the "Coach of the Year Award" at the 2019 Esports Awards in November.
Astralis Group announced the merger of all teams under the Astralis brand in September 2020. After continuing for over five years with the squad, Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz left in April 2021 to sign with Ninjas in Pyjamas. With eighteen MVP medals during his time with Astralis, dev1ce set the record for most MVPs in Counter-Strike history.
After defeating Aurora Gaming in the grand final 2–1 in an online tournament, Astralis won CCT North Europe Series 3 in 2023.
