Fnatic, the powerhouse in the world of Counter-Strike, is undergoing a significant transformation in its Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) lineup. The organization earlier announced that it will be rebuilding its CS2 roster after a series of inconsistent performances. In a bid to rebuild its roster, Australian in-game leader Christopher "dexter" Nong has been moved to inactive roster after a brief four-month tenure.

Dexter's departure from the active roster follows the recent exits of Danish rifler Fredrik "roeJ" Jørgensen on 11th November and British star William "mezii" Merriman on 2nd November. This series of changes leaves only CS legend Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson, French AWPer Aurélien "afro" Drapie, and head coach Jamie "keita" Hall standing as the core members of Fnatic's revamped roster.
Dexter, who joined Fnatic on July 6 alongside afro, was brought in to lead the team strategically. However, the expected results did not materialize, with lackluster performances in prominent tournaments such as Gamers8 in August, ESL Pro League season 18 in September, and IEM Sydney in October.
Following the announcement of his benching, Dexter took to social media, expressing that things didn't unfold as planned. He stated that he will be heading home for Christmas, and will take a break.
Fnatic, a historically successful team in Counter-Strike, last clinched a tier-one trophy in 2019 at DreamHack Masters Malmö with a full Swedish lineup. On Nov. 15, Fnatic assured fans that their focus is "fully set on investing in a new roster" to reclaim their former glory.

The impending Elisa Masters Espoo, commencing on Nov. 29, adds urgency to Fnatic's need to reveal who will fill the void left by dexter, mezii, and roeJ, even if temporarily. As Fnatic navigates this evolution, the esports community eagerly anticipates the unveiling of a roster that will redefine the team's competitive edge and restore its championship legacy.
