T1 has officially declared its commitment to dominance by retaining its champion roster from the Worlds 2023 Championship. This unprecedented decision marks a departure from the norm for T1, a team renowned for shuffling its lineup post-world conquests.
T1’s LoL Roster For LCK 2024
The confirmed roster for the 2024 League of Legends esports season includes:
Amidst the uncertainty that loomed over T1 fans leading up to the 2023 Worlds, the fear of their favorite roster disbanding post-victory was notable. T1’s star player Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok and jungler Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun were the only players with contracts extending beyond 2023. Speculations intensified as several players hinted at the possibility of parting ways after the grand finale.
The organization initially teased the fate of its roster with a cryptic video on 22nd November, featuring silhouettes of the five players and their coach for the 2024 season. However, any apprehensions were put to rest on 23rd November when T1 made a series of announcements confirming the retention of its World Championship-winning lineup.
The confirmation came on 23rd November, revealing that three key players—Choi "Zeus" Woo-je, Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong, and Ryu "Keria" Min-seok—have all re-signed with T1 for the 2024 season. Despite being free agents after their contracts expired on 21st November, leaks and reports proved accurate as T1 officially announced the trio's return.
Adding to the anticipation, T1 unveiled a coaching masterstroke by bringing back Kim "kkOma" Jeong-gyun as the head coach for the LCK 2024 season. A legendary figure in League of Legends coaching, kkOma previously contributed to SK Telecom T1's dynasty from 2012 to 2019, securing three Worlds titles, two MSI titles, and numerous LCK championships. His recent success includes guiding the Korean national team to an Asian Games Gold medal at Hangzhou 2022.
The revamped coaching staff sees the departure of former coaches Kim “Sky” Ha-neul and Kim “Roach” Kang-hee, with Im “Tom” Jae-hyeon transitioning from interim head coach to a coaching role.
With Faker's contract extending to 2025 and Oner's to 2024, T1 has solidified its powerhouse lineup, signaling a clear intent to defend their World Championship title in 2024. As the esports community eagerly anticipates the upcoming Spring Split, all eyes will be on T1 to see how they maintain their momentum and continue their legacy of success.
