Blizzard's Overwatch 2 has recently bestowed Roadhog mains with the rework they've eagerly anticipated. The overhaul, implemented on November 14, introduced a fresh ability and an overall kit transformation. However, the journey doesn't end there – Blizzard, in a Twitter announcement from Overwatch 2 lead hero designer Alec Dawson, has signaled another adjustment for Roadhog this week.

Roadhog Rework in Overwatch 2
Dawson hinted at a tweak to Roadhog's survivability through a buff to his skill, Take a Breather, expected to roll out on either November 16 or 17. According to Dawson, despite Roadhog's surge in viability across various ranks post-rework, there's room for enhancing Take a Breather's impact overall.
In this week's rework, Take a Breather found a new home on the secondary fire hotkey, accompanied by a cooldown replaced with a resource bar reminiscent of D.Va's Defense Matrix mechanics. The specific details of the Take a Breather buff remain undisclosed, but speculations arise, anticipating a potential increase in the resource bar refill speed during idle periods.
During an earlier Q&A session with streamers and fans, Dawson hinted at this very change, contingent upon Roadhog's post-rework performance. The intriguing aspect highlighted in Dawson's update is the substantial rise in Roadhog's viability "across all rank thresholds." While his previous standing among tanks was lackluster, this newfound flexibility indicates a promising shift, even preceding the upcoming weekend buff.
Fast forward to November 16, 11:21 pm CT, and Blizzard has swiftly delivered on its promise with a new patch. The adjustments to Roadhog's Take a Breather are now in effect: a healing boost from 450 to 500, a 40 percent damage reduction, a reduced duration of 2.5 seconds, and a recharge time of 10 seconds.
