Featuring renowned titles like Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and Counter Strike 2 (CS2), the Skyesports Championship 5.0 is already generating significant buzz among gaming enthusiasts.

One of the most remarkable aspects of this championship is its staggering prize pool, amounting to a whopping INR 2.1 Crores. The BGMI Grand Finals, a LAN event scheduled to be held at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bangalore from the 3rd to the 5th of November, will take center stage with a prize pool of INR 1.25 Crores. Semi-finals and Grand Finals are set to receive INR 25 Lakhs and INR 1 Crore, respectively.

However, there's a twist in the story this time. The Skyesports Championship 5.0 is pioneering a new approach by introducing a platform fee for accessing its live streams. The action will be streamed exclusively on Loco, a dynamic live streaming platform, offering multiple language options, including English, Hindi, and Tamil, to ensure that fans from all corners of the nation can partake in the thrill.

The decision to charge a fee for live stream access has sparked a mixed reaction from the dedicated esports community. For an entry fee of INR 20, fans can enjoy the live action by purchasing a VIP membership on Loco, which will remain active for 72 hours. The move aims to ensure the sustainability of the event and, if successful, may pave the way for a more equitable distribution of revenue among teams, tournament organizers (TOs), and streaming platforms, as expressed by Yash Bhanushali, Founder of Orangutan.

Shiva Nandy, Founder and CEO of Skyesports, echoed this sentiment, stating that if the new model proves to be effective, a shared solution can be achieved, benefiting all stakeholders involved. This marks a significant departure from the traditional approach of offering free live streams.
