In a surprising turn of events following The International 12 (TI12), BOOM Esports bids farewell to two of its support players, XNova and BoBoKa. While the Southeast Asian (SEA) organization has not officially confirmed their departures, both players took to their social media accounts to announce their status as "Looking For Team."

XNova, who made the announcement on November 2, 2023, via Twitter, simply posted, "Lft lft lft lft," signaling his quest for a new team. BoBoKa, on the other hand, shared his plans on Weibo, revealing that he is also on the lookout for a new team and currently does not have an active contract. It's worth noting that BoBoKa was on loan to BOOM Esports from Team Aster from August to November 2023.

Despite their promising roster on paper, XNova and BOOM Esports failed to achieve the expected success during the 2023 competitive season. Despite making roster changes in a bid to turn their fortune around, they ultimately fell short in their pursuit to qualify for TI12.

BoBoKa's departure from BOOM Esports also marks the end of his five-year tenure with Team Aster. Joining the team in 2018, BoBoKa enjoyed some moments of success, notably securing a fourth-place finish at TI11. However, he was later replaced by Hu "Kaka" Liangzhi and loaned to BOOM Esports for TI12's SEA qualifiers, where the team's journey ended at 5th-6th place, eliminated by Execration.

BOOM Esports, which had a breakthrough season last year, experienced a stark reversal of fortunes in 2023. Despite possessing individual talents, the team struggled to find the synergy required to thrive as a cohesive unit.

As the SEA squad undergoes restructuring, CEO Gary "natshuba" Ongko is set to engage with fans via Twitter Spaces on November 3, 2023, to provide insights into what to expect from their Dota 2 roster moving forward.

BOOM Esports currently features John "Natsumi" Anthony Vargas as the carry, Erin "Yopaj" Jasper Ferrer in the midlane, and Chung "Ws" Wei Shen in the offlane.
