Following an underwhelming performance of 9Pandas in The International 2023, a rumor surfaced in the Dota 2 community that 9Pandas might be disbanding. To clarify the situation, Team captain Solo emerged with a reassuring message and a glimpse into their plans for 2024. 

Acknowledging the relentless deluge of questions and conjecture, Solo spoke candidly, assuring fans, "The team is doing well. We've been taking a well-deserved break after our journey at The International. As for our future, we haven't had those discussions yet. But, you'll be the first to know. So, stay tuned." 

Putting an end to the swirling disbandment rumors, Solo then disclosed his personal aspirations for the upcoming Dota 2 season in 2024. In a momentous revelation, the veteran captain declared that 2024 would be his "last dance" in the competitive scene. However, he remained undecided about whether he would continue as a player or gracefully transition into a coaching role. 

Should Solo choose the latter path, 9Pandas would find themselves in search of a new position five player. Despite their presence at all the Major tournaments throughout 2023 and a commendable top-six finish at the Riyadh Masters 2023, the team grappled with inconsistency. 

Their lack of stability in gameplay eventually caught up with them at TI 2023, where they bowed out of the tournament earlier than expected, despite their initial upper bracket position. Some might argue that 9Pandas faced the toughest main draw, squaring off against formidable opponents like LGD and Gaimin Gladiators, both of whom finished in the top four. 

The esports landscape for Dota 2 is evolving, with the DPC taking an unexpected turn. With ESL's LAN event slated for December, Dota 2 teams are racing against the clock to finalize their rosters for the regional qualifiers.
