Legendary Counter-Strike player, Cédric “RpK” Guipouy, renowned for his tenure on top French teams in Counter-Strike, has officially emerged from retirement. Le Tank, as he's affectionately known, bid adieu to his CS:GO professional career in September 2021, following his benching by Vitality. In the aftermath, he ventured into the unexpected realm of automobile entrepreneurship, establishing RpK Motorsport, a garage shop. To many, this transition came as a shock, as RpK hadn't participated in an official match for over two years and seemed to have reached the twilight of his competitive career during his last days with Vitality.
The motives behind RpK's decision to re-enter the world of professional gaming remain a mystery. However, some speculate that the desire to relive the exhilaration of being a professional player might have rekindled after his appearance in a showmatch during the BLAST Paris Major in May.
Throughout his illustrious career, RpK exclusively represented French teams and never explored the opportunities presented by international squads. If the 34-year-old veteran insists on communicating solely in French, he might encounter difficulties in finding a new team. The French competitive scene has experienced a decline in recent years, with the country's most accomplished players now gracing international, English-speaking rosters, such as Vitality, TSM, and Fnatic.
Nonetheless, even if RpK might not be the first choice for top-tier teams in today's CS2 landscape, he could consider assembling a French roster, nurturing young talent, and imparting his invaluable experience, serving as a mentor to the next generation of CS pros.

Should RpK secure a new team in CS2, he stands to add to his already impressive legacy by chasing championships across three CS titles. His prior triumphs in CS: Source and CS:GO have earned him a well-deserved place among the elite. As of now, the sole player who has achieved the remarkable feat of securing titles in three CS editions is karrigan, the esteemed in-game leader of FaZe Clan. However, with the advent of CS2, a new chapter in competitive gaming is about to be written, and RpK's return promises to be a captivating storyline in the unfolding narrative of the game.
