As Apex Legends fans eagerly anticipate the arrival of season 19, they have even more reason to rejoice. The long-awaited cross-progression feature is finally making its debut, marking a significant milestone in the game's evolution. Respawn Entertainment recently confirmed this exciting development at a press event and a blog post.
What is Cross Progression in Apex Legends?
Cross-progression promises to be a game-changer, ensuring that players can maintain their progress across different platforms. Gone are the days of starting from scratch when transitioning between devices. This monumental step forward aims to offer a seamless gaming experience for Apex enthusiasts who play on various platforms.
Game director Evan Nikolich expressed the philosophy behind cross-progression: "Our philosophy for cross-progression is for players to have one account everywhere they play. We want players to have the same experience and cosmetics on whatever platform they decide to play Apex on." In essence, players will have the freedom to choose their preferred platform without compromising their hard-earned progress.
Transitioning to a merged account is anticipated to be a straightforward process, courtesy of Respawn Entertainment. When the new season, named "Ignite," launches on October 31, players will be prompted to consolidate their accounts into one unified profile. The account with the highest level will assume the role of the "master" account.
What's more, players can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that their cherished skins, badges, and achievements won't be left behind. These valuable in-game assets will seamlessly transfer to the merged account, creating a unified gaming experience.
The inclusion of cross-progression has long been on the wishlist of Apex Legends players. While crossplay was introduced in 2020, and the game expanded to the Nintendo Switch in 2021, cross-progression was a missing piece of the puzzle. With the account-merging process set to go live alongside season 19, it's an exciting time for the Apex community.

Season 19 isn't just about cross-progression, though. It also brings the introduction of a new legend, Conduit, a revamped Storm Point, and a slew of changes to weapon and legend balance. Notably, there will be a new rotation for weapons in both the care package and the Replicators. Apex Legends enthusiasts can dive into all these thrilling additions when Ignite arrives on October 31, ushering in a new era of seamless and unified gaming experiences.
