In a shocking turn of events at the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Game Changers tournament, the North American team, Noot Noot, has been disqualified following allegations of cheating. The team was disqualified during their third game against GX3 after allegations of cheating against its player Malibu.
Cheating Allegation Led To Two Hour Delay in VCT GC
The controversy unfolded during a particularly intense match when Malibu, a player from Noot Noot, executed an impressive clutch in round two, eliminating four members of GX3 in quick succession. This remarkable play led to a temporary pause in the game, which turned into a grueling two-hour delay. As speculation swirled about the reasons behind the delay, fans were left in suspense.
However, the suspense was short-lived as the tournament's official decision was announced via Twitter. It was confirmed that Noot Noot had violated the Valorant Game Changers Rules and Regulations, leading to their immediate disqualification from the match and, subsequently, from the tournament itself.
What adds another layer of complexity to this controversy is the response from other players on the Noot Noot team. They vehemently denied any involvement in or knowledge of the alleged cheating. Xann, one of the team members, even revealed that they had only met Malibu two weeks before the qualifiers, lacking the necessary context to understand the plays being made.
The fallout from this incident has extended beyond Noot Noot and GX3. Notably, Disguised Toast, a prominent figure in the Valorant community, commented on the situation after his own Game Changers squad was eliminated by Noot Noot. The broader community is now left wondering how this disqualification may affect the results of previous games in the tournament, though it appears unlikely that any substantial changes will be made.

At the time of their disqualification, Noot Noot was locked in a fierce battle during map three of the lower bracket quarterfinals. Losing this match would have meant their elimination from the tournament, highlighting the high stakes involved in the world of competitive Valorant. While cheating remains relatively rare in the game, the incident underscores its potential to have a detrimental impact on the integrity of the sport.
