Riot Games has announced that League of Legends fans will have the opportunity to shape an upcoming support item's name and theme. The item, known for now as "Go Fast with Friends," is set to be released at the beginning of the next year, coinciding with a significant overhaul of existing in-game items. Riot Games is entrusting the League of Legends community with the task of deciding the item's official name and the visual effects it will produce.
Riot Will Allow LoL Players Vote on Name of the Upcoming “Go Fast with Friends” item
This extraordinary initiative marks a significant departure from Riot Games' traditional development processes. While the company has often sought feedback on various gameplay elements, allowing players to determine the name and aesthetics of an item takes player involvement to a whole new level.
The forthcoming support item aims to provide champions who choose to build it with increased movement speed as they navigate the Summoner's Rift. This movement speed boost has a cap, and once it's reached, a visually stunning effect will kick in. This effect, much like the one generated by purchasing an Elixir of Iron, will follow the player, not only enhancing the speed of nearby allies but also punishing the first enemy hit by the champion wielding the item with damage and a slow.
To make the decision even more engaging, players are presented with three distinct names and themes to choose from, each representing a different facet of Runeterra, the game's fictional universe. The first option is "Eerie Invitation," which turns the trail into a mist from the mysterious Shadow Isles. It comes with a passive ability known as "Dark Missive." The second choice is "Trailblazer," allowing players to create a trail of golden dust reminiscent of Shurima, and it includes the "Make the Path" passive. The third and final option is "Scout's Fanfare," where the champion leaves behind a musical note trail, an attempt to rally Yordles, featuring the "Lead the Way!" passive.

How to Participate
League of Legends players eager to have their say can participate in the voting process through the "overview" tab in the League client. Each player is granted one vote, and the voting period will remain open until October 6th. The results of this player-driven decision-making process are expected to be implemented into the game's Public Beta Environment (PBE) alongside other preseason changes on November 20th.
