Cloud9 is set to undergo a significant transformation for its 2024 VALORANT roster, according to a report by Blix.gg. The organization has reportedly secured deals with two key players, Anthony "vanity" Malaspina and former G2 breakout star Francis “OXY” Hoang. These signings come after a series of major changes within the Cloud9 camp, including the departure of Zellsis, former IGL runi, and coach mCe.

One of the most notable aspects of this roster overhaul is the return of Anthony "vanity" Malaspina, who is making a comeback to Cloud9. Vanity had previously played for the organization but left under unspecified circumstances. His return adds an experienced and familiar face to the team.

Francis “OXY” Hoang, the former G2 standout, is another exciting addition to Cloud9's roster. OXY had an impressive year with G2 in NA Challengers, even though the team faced struggles in the latter part of the season. His agent pool primarily consists of Raze and Jett, which raises questions about the future of Nathan “leaf” Orf, Cloud9's current primary Jett star. The report does not provide information about leaf's status, but according to the Global Contract Database, he is listed on Cloud9's roster through 2025.

Despite the changes, Cloud9 is retaining Erick “Xeppaa” Bach and standout controller player Jake “jakee” Anderson, ensuring some continuity in their lineup. Xeppaa and jakee have been crucial members of the team and will likely play pivotal roles in the 2024 season.

This significant roster shakeup follows a season filled with ups and downs for Cloud9. Despite a strong start to the season, Cloud9 fell short of reaching Champions via both the Americas playoffs and the Last Chance Qualifier. The departure of vanity and Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker early in the 2023 season had also raised eyebrows, and Cloud9 fans had been eager to see how the team would rebuild.

Cloud9's revamped lineup is expected to bring fresh strategies and dynamics to the 2024 VALORANT season. As the team adjusts to these changes, fans will be keeping a close eye on how the returning players and newcomers gel together. With a mix of experience and rising talent, Cloud9 aims to make a strong statement in the highly competitive world of VALORANT esports as they prepare for the upcoming challenges that the 2024 season will undoubtedly bring.
