Nigma Galaxy, a once-formidable force in the competitive Dota 2 scene, has been eliminated from the running in The International 12 (TI12)'s Western Europe qualifier. The team's dreams of making it to their third consecutive TI have been shattered after back-to-back series losses that caught both fans and analysts off guard.

TI12 WEU Qualifier: Nigma Galaxy vs Alliance Overview

Facing off against Entity in the upper bracket, Nigma Galaxy put up a valiant fight but ultimately succumbed to defeat, pushing them into the lower bracket. There, they clashed with Alliance, a team whose recent performance had been underwhelming, raising hopes of an easy victory for Nigma. However, the Dota 2 gods had other plans.

The lower bracket series commenced with Nigma as the favored contender, a testament to their past achievements and potential. Alliance, though struggling in recent times, exhibited a surprising resurgence. The first game saw Alliance executing their strategies with precision, securing an unexpected victory that set the tone for what was to come.

Nigma fought back in the second game, displaying dominance with a staggering 37 kills against Alliance's mere two kills. But the tide turned swiftly in the third game. Nigma faltered in the drafting stage, and key player Yuma faced a tough laning phase with three early deaths. Alliance capitalized on these weaknesses, following a clear-cut plan that secured their triumph in the series.

This abrupt exit from the TI12 qualifier marks the end of another challenging season for Nigma. While player changes were made throughout the year, including additions like Yuma "Yuma" Langlet and Kasra "Mikey" Mesbah, consistency remained an issue. Despite flashes of synergy, drafting struggles and gameplay inconsistencies plagued the team's journey.

Founded in November 2019, Nigma had emerged as a powerhouse in the Dota 2 realm, but their recent struggles have cast a shadow over their former glory. The team's core members displayed admirable unity and resilience through tough times, but their inability to secure a spot in the prestigious TI event for the third time consecutively suggests potential changes lie ahead for the organization.

On the other hand, Alliance finds itself in an intriguing position. With their spirits lifted and momentum on their side, Alliance could potentially carve a path for themselves in the tournament.
