Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has been plagued by hackers since its launch. S8UL Esports’ co-owner and India’s one of the most popular gaming content creators Naman "Mortal" Mathur recently discussed this issue. MortaL revealed that he had been in regular contact with Krafton, the developer of BGMI, and numerous content creators are trying their best to solve this issue.
MortaL Reveals Content Creators are Trying to Ban Hackers
Behind the scenes, Krafton, the game's developer, is actively working to solve the hacker threat. With a commitment to fair play, Krafton has implemented a suite of rigorous measures designed to combat hacking across all aspects of the game. Their deployment of sophisticated anti-cheat systems and meticulous recording of players' perspectives during matches serves as a robust defense against illicit practices.
In a recent livestream, Mortal offered invaluable insights into the issue. He revealed that content creators, including himself, are maintaining consistent communication with Krafton to tackle the hacker dilemma head-on.
MortaL's transparency extended to acknowledging a crucial challenge: the absence of a streamlined method to promptly ban cheaters. While content creators and players are actively reporting instances of hacking, the lack of a direct reporting avenue hampers the swift removal of hackers from the game. MortaL's candid acknowledgement of this hurdle highlights the complexities involved in maintaining a fair gaming environment.
MortaL’s Opinion on Boycotting BGMI
Amid rising frustrations, some voices suggested boycotting the game as a potential solution. Mortal, however, pushed back against this notion, advocating that abandoning the game would not vanquish the hacking challenge. Instead, he emphasized the importance of persevering through obstacles, urging the community not to let the actions of a few tarnish the overall experience.
Mortal's perspective resonates with countless players who've experienced the impact of hackers firsthand. During his live stream, Mortal himself has encountered hackers multiple times who exploited unfair advantages.

The repercussions of hacking extend beyond individual gameplay, infiltrating the competitive ecosystem. Krafton has taken a stringent stance against this, disqualifying players and teams caught engaging in unethical practices. The recent disqualification of a team from the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 due to foul play serves as a stark reminder of the battle being waged to maintain the integrity of BGMI's competitive scene.
