Battlegrounds Mobile India Master Series (BGMS) Season 2 is set to kick off on August 4, promising an electrifying esports spectacle that will captivate gaming enthusiasts across the nation. With a whopping prize pool of ₹2.1 crore, this offline tournament held in Delhi NCR will bring together 24 top-tier teams in a battle for glory and recognition.
BGMS Season 2 will be a landmark event, as it becomes the only esports tournament broadcasted live on TV through the esteemed Star Sports Network. Additionally, fans can catch all the thrilling action online through the Rooter streaming platform.
BGMI Master Series Season 2: Format and Points Distribution
BGMS Season 2 will unfold in four captivating phases: the Launch Week, League Stage, Playoffs, and Grand Finals.
Launch Week (August 4th - 6th)
The tournament will commence with the Launch Week, where the 24 teams will be divided into three groups of eight. This round-robin format will span three matchdays, with points earned contributing to the Overall leaderboard.
League Stage - Week 1 (August 7th - 13th)
Week 1 will witness the League and Finals segments. The League will feature three groups of eight teams each, competing in a round-robin format for four matchdays. The top 16 teams from the League will advance to Week 1 Finals, where they will vie for victory in three matchdays. The points accumulated here will impact the Overall leaderboard. Top 4 teams as per the Overall leaderboard following the conclusion of Week 1 finals will qualify for Week 2 finals, but they will also play Week 2 League.
League Stage - Week 2 (August 14th - 20th)
During Week 2, the 24 teams will engage in a League and Finals stage. The League will follow a round-robin format with four matchdays. The top 12 teams from the League and the top 4 teams from Week 1 Finals will secure their place in Week 2 Finals. Points earned in this stage will also influence the Overall leaderboard.
Playoffs (August 22nd - 23rd)
The Playoffs will feature the top 12 teams from the Overall standings, competing in two match days to secure a spot in the highly-anticipated Grand Finals.
Grand Finals (August 25th - 27th)
The pinnacle of BGMS Season 2, the Grand Finals will witness 16 top teams battling it out over three matchdays. The top 4 teams from the Overall leaderboard after Week 2 Finals will directly qualify for the Grand Finals, while teams placed fifth to twentieth will proceed to the Playoffs. Unfortunately, the bottom four teams from the Overall leaderboard will be eliminated.
Points Distribution: The tournament will feature a 15-point scoring system, but what sets it apart are the changes made to tallying points. During the initial circle, each kill will now be worth two points, injecting excitement and strategy into the games.
BGMI Master Series Season 2: All Teams
As mentioned above, BGMI Master Series Season 2 will feature a total of 24 teams. However, 14 teams will be invited and 10 teams will advance from qualifiers.
