Team SoloMid (TSM) finally announced its return to the competitive world of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). Prior to the official announcement by the organization, its Counter-Strike roster was leaked by a user on Twitter. However, the much-anticipated reveal has been met with mixed reactions from fans as the roster was recently leaked. Despite initial hype surrounding TSM's comeback ahead of CS2's release, some fans are expressing disappointment at what they perceive to be an underwhelming lineup.

TSM’s Counter-Strike Roster

According to a leak by well-known source Draky on July 24, the new TSM roster features former Into the Breach powerhouse Cai “CYPHER” Watson as the entry fragger, alongside former G2 player Audric “JACKZ” Jug. The ex-North in-game leader Valdemar “valde” Vangså, previous Cloud9 support Timofey “interz” Yakushin, and up-and-coming Romanian AWPer Mădălin-Andrei “MoDo” Mirea complete the lineup. Notably, the team will be guided by Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam, known for his coaching stints with G2 and Vitality.

Prior to the leak, reports by 1pv.fr had already indicated TSM's interest in signing CYPHER, JACKZ, and interz, with XTQZZZ joining as the coach. Additionally, it was rumored that the talented player dupreeh would not be part of the roster, and this leak appears to confirm those speculations.

The absence of dupreeh, along with CYPHER's impressive performances in the recent BLAST Paris Major and the former G2 player's reputation, had originally fueled the community's excitement for TSM's CS:GO comeback. However, the leaked roster has sparked debate among fans, with many voicing their concerns on social media platforms.

Twitter and Reddit have become platforms for fans to express their opinions, with some calling the lineup "mid" or "average" at best. The term "Team SoloMid" was used sarcastically to emphasize the perceived mediocrity of the squad. Others feel that the roster lacks the star power they were expecting, given TSM's past associations with renowned players like dev1ce and the formation of Astralis in 2016.

TSM's interest in returning to CS:GO was officially confirmed at the end of 2022, marking their first foray back into the scene since parting ways with their North American lineup in January 2017. The decision to rejoin the competitive landscape raised high expectations among fans, who hoped to witness a lineup filled with top-tier talent in the 2023 return.
