Popular BGMI esports player Tanmay "Scout" Singh recently voiced his opinion on the lack of a governing body in India's esports ecosystem. In light of Rudra “SPower” B's rumored departure from Blind Esports, Scout highlighted the importance of establishing a governing body to regulate the industry.

Scout Believes Indian Esports Community Needs a Governing Body

Scout expressed his belief that SPower's decision should be respected, as he is a young player with the freedom to make his own choices. However, he raised concerns about the overall system in India, emphasizing the absence of a governing body capable of determining what is right and wrong. Scout added that India needs a governing body that is accepted by the entire gaming community.

Scout suggested forming a governing body composed of ten individuals selected from the esports community. The credibility and acceptance of this body would be crucial for its effectiveness. The proposed governing body would act as an authoritative entity responsible for creating and implementing rules and regulations for the industry. To ensure fairness and inclusivity, Scout proposed a majority rule system within the governing body. If six out of the ten members agree on a rule, it would be considered accepted and subsequently enforced.

One specific area where Scout believes regulations are necessary is regarding roster changes. He suggests implementing a specific period during which players cannot make roster changes after signing with a team. By adopting this rule, teams and players would have a stable environment that fosters trust and commitment.

Having a governing body in place would bring numerous advantages to the Indian esports scene. It would establish a fair and standardized framework for player transfers, contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and tournament organization. Moreover, a governing body would enhance the professionalism and credibility of the industry, attracting more investments and opportunities for players.
