Los Angeles Thieves, a prominent team in the Call of Duty League (CDL), will face a major shakeup in the upcoming season as Dylan "Envoy" Hannon, a former CDL world champion, officially announced his departure. In a heartfelt one-minute video released on July 12, Envoy explained that it was a necessary move for him, given the current circumstances.

Envoy Might Join Toronto Ultra’s CoD Roster After Leaving LA Thieves

Envoy, known for his exceptional skills and contributions to the Thieves, expressed his desire to join a team that has the potential to contend for championships. With victories at Major Four and the Call of Duty League Championship in 2022, as well as Major Four in 2023, Envoy played a significant role in the team's success.

However, the Thieves' 2023 CDL season ended on a disappointing note with an early exit at CoD Champs, where they fell 3-2 to the Seattle Surge in the first round of the elimination bracket. Despite the setback, Envoy remained positive, stating, "Gotta be happy with what you got while you're here." He acknowledged that although he wished for a more triumphant conclusion, he understood that setbacks are a part of the journey.

Envoy's departure adds to the recent roster changes for the Thieves, as Sam "Octane" Larew, Envoy's former teammate, had previously announced his retirement from professional Call of Duty. The team is undoubtedly in for a significant reorganization this offseason.

According to reports by Jacob Hale from Dexerto, Envoy is expected to join the Toronto Ultra, while Zack "Drazah" Jordan is eyeing a spot on the Atlanta FaZe, and Kenneth "Kenny" Williams is likely to land with OpTic Texas. These potential moves set the stage for an intriguing shuffle among top-tier CDL teams.

As the Thieves bid farewell to their former world champion, they will be tasked with rebuilding their roster and finding new talent to fill the void left by Envoy. The upcoming season promises excitement and unpredictability, with teams vying for dominance and the ultimate goal of securing the championship title.
