In an exciting announcement, Activision has revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's highly anticipated season four is set to deliver the most substantial content drop yet. With a launch date of June 14, this new season will introduce a host of thrilling features, including seven fresh maps spanning multiple game modes, and four powerful weapons. Additionally, players can expect a brand-new Warzone map called Vondel to further enhance the gaming experience.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 Map Addition
One of the standout inclusions is the beloved classic map, Showdown, which originated in the legendary Call of Duty 4 and is currently available within Al Mazrah as part of the popular battle royale map, Ahkdar Village. Showdown's iconic middle area, adorned with a statue, is surrounded by strategic sightlines and accessible via various staircases. Moreover, Kunstenaar District, inspired by a location in the upcoming Resurgence map Vondel, offers a European-inspired setting complete with townhouses, boutique shops, a central plaza, and a picturesque canal.
To cater to different gameplay preferences, the new maps extend beyond the six-vs-six format. Mercado and Penthouse cater to the intense Gunfight mode, while Mawizeh Marshlands and Ahkdar Village provide sprawling battlefields for large-scale modes like Ground War. Additionally, a mid-season release will introduce Vondel Waterfront, another core six-vs-six map that promises diverse and action-packed encounters.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 New Arsenal
A fresh arsenal of weapons will be at players' disposal in season four. Among them are the Tempus Razorback assault rifle, the ISO 45 SMG, and a shotgun scheduled for a mid-season debut. Players will have the opportunity to unlock the Tempus Razorback and ISO 45 SMG through the season four battle pass. Moreover, an exclusive in-season event called Assault on Vondel will allow players to obtain the Tonfa melee weapon. This event will also mark the return of the popular operator, Nikto, from Modern Warfare 2019. In total, the season will introduce five new operators, further diversifying the gameplay experience.
Additional Features
Season four doesn't stop at map expansions and new weapons. It also brings a fresh season of ranked play to both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, offering competitive challenges for players seeking a competitive edge. Exciting rewards and achievements await those who prove their skills. Furthermore, a mid-season update is expected in July, bringing a new Raid episode that will undoubtedly captivate fans with its immersive gameplay and challenging missions.
