Aster Army Emerges Victorious in Intense VCL SA Split 2 Showdown Against True Rippers

In a nail-biting clash in the Valorant Challengers League (VCL) 2023: South Asia (SA) Split 2, Aster Army defeated True Rippers with a 2-1 scoreline. Both teams put forth incredible performances but Aster Army triumphed, breaking True Rippers’ winning streak. The entire match was filled with ups and downs, leaving spectators on the edge of their seats.

VCL SA Split 2: Aster Army vs True Rippers Recap

In the map veto, True Rippers banned Pearl and Aster Army banned Lotus. The teams then selected Split and Haven,respectively. Lastly, Ascent was selected as the decider map.

Map No. 1: Split

In the first half of Split, True Rippers started off strong, winning the pistol and anti-eco round. However, Aster Army soon made a comeback and won three consecutive rounds leading to a score of 3-2. Following this, True Rippers retaliated and secured five consecutive rounds. After a few back and forth wins, the first half concluded with an TR 8-4 AA scoreline.

In the second half, True Rippers maintained its consistency, securing the pistol round and the subsequent anti-eco round. True Rippers showed incredible performance as defenders, losing only one round and clinching victory with a 13-5 scoreline.

Map No. 2: Haven

In the first half of Haven, True Rippers claimed an early advantage by winning four consecutive rounds. However, Aster Army made an incredible comeback to win four consecutive rounds, equalizing the score at 4-4. The first half concluded with an equal score of 6-6.

In the second half, Aster Army won the pistol round and the following anti-eco round, securing a 8-6 lead. True Rippers won the round after that, but lost the following two rounds consecutively. The match took an exhilarating turn as True Rippers forced the game into overtime, only to succumb to a tight 16-14 defeat.

Map No. 3: Ascent

In the first half of Ascent, Aster Army put forth an incredible performance to win the pistol round and anti-eco round. It only lost three rounds in the first half, securing a 9-3 lead. In the second half, Aster Army reigned its dominance and closed the map without losing a single round with a scoreline of 13-3.

Ngô "Kishi" Huy played three different agents on three maps in the series. However, he did not fall short on any of the maps and became the most valuable player (MVP) of the series with a KDA of 61/44 /27.
