Battlegrounds Mobile India, Krafton's popular battle royale title and the Indian variant of PUBG Mobile, continues to remain suspended in the country. Despite rumors and demands from players and fans, neither Krafton nor the government of India has made any official statement regarding the game's return.
To recap, the Indian government suspended BGMI in July 2022 citing concerns over national security and privacy, under the provisions of Section 69A of the IT Act 2000. Since then, there have been several speculations about the game's comeback, with rumors stating it may return in January, February, March, and April. Notably, a lot of popular players and content creators also claimed that the game would return soon. However, all of these rumors turned out to be false.
Recently, a News18 report suggested that BGMI may make a return to e-stores - Google Play Store and Apple's App Store - for three months with certain modifications. These changes include limited play time, no graphic gore, and internal changes to the game server. However, there has been no official confirmation of this report from Krafton, and the reliability of the source is uncertain.
Despite the lack of official confirmation, the report has created a lot of excitement among the game's fans and players who are eagerly waiting for its return. However, as time passes, the hopes of both the fans and players are diminishing.
It remains unclear what steps Krafton has taken to address the government's concerns about national security and privacy, or if any progress has been made in this regard. Even if the game does make a comeback in the near future, it is uncertain if it will be a permanent unban or if it will only be available for a limited time.
To put it bluntly, Krafton has not revealed the BGMI unban date and the fate of BGMI's return remains uncertain, and the game's fans and players can only hope for a positive outcome.
