In the recent Valorant Challengers League (VCL) 2023: South Asia (SA) Split 2 matchup, Orangutan Gaming dominated Velocity Gaming 2-0. The fan-favorite team Velocity Gaming seemed off its game as it was defeated 13-2 and 13-7 in the two maps played. Orangutan Gaming, led by Sabyasachi "Antidote" Bose as the in-game leader (IGL), put forth an incredible performance and Jm "tesseract" Ignacio emerged as the most valuable player (MVP) of the match.

In the map veto, Velocity Gaming banned Fracture, while Orangutan Gaming banned Lotus. Velocity Gaming picked Haven, a map that they have historically done well on, whereas Orangutan Gaming picked Ascent. The two teams then banned Split and Pearl, leaving Bind as the decider map.
Map no. 1 - Haven
On Haven, Orangutan Gaming put on an incredible performance by winning the first five rounds in a row. Despite Velocity Gaming's efforts, Orangutan Gaming continued to dominate and secured a 10-2 lead by the end of the first half. In the second half, Orangutan Gaming maintained its consistency, did not lose a single round, and secured the map with a final score of 13-2.
Map no. 1 - Ascent
On the second map Ascent, Velocity Gaming appeared confident, winning the pistol round and the following round. However, following this, Orangutan Gaming made a comeback to win five consecutive rounds. In the first half, Orangutan Gaming managed to secure a scoreline of 8-4 in its favor. In the second half, Orangutan Gaming won the pistol and anti-eco rounds, and despite losing the bonus round, they continued their winning streak to take the map with a final score of 13-7.
Both teams put on their best performances in the match. However, Velocity Gaming fell short in both the maps. It will be interesting to see if Velocity Gaming makes a comeback in the upcoming matches, and whether Orangutan Gaming maintains its momentum.
