Respawn Entertainment is all set to launch Apex Legends Season 17 on 9th May, bringing in a plethora of changes to the game. One of the most anticipated changes is the revamp of the game's three maps - World's Edge, Olympus, and Kings Canyon. During the first half of the season, players can experience all three maps in both ranked and casual game modes, with World's Edge receiving a much-needed facelift as part of a map update.
Apex Legends Season 17 To Overhaul Fragment in World's Edge
The crown jewel of the first half of Season 17 will be World's Edge. This popular map will be receiving a much-needed facelift as part of a map update. One of the most divisive points of interest (POIs) in the game, Fragment, will be impacted by the overhaul. In its place, players will find a new Monument POI. The "streamer building" in Fragment, a popular spot for many Apex players, will also be relocated to a new POI called Stacks, which will replace Lava City. The new location promises to offer vertical combat with plenty of layers to fight on, according to Respawn.
Olympus and Kings Canyon To Replace Broken Moon and Storm Point in Apex Legends Season 17
In addition to the revamped World's Edge, players will also have the chance to explore Olympus and Kings Canyon. While Olympus has cemented its place as a popular map in Apex Legends, Kings Canyon's return after a three-season absence is sure to be a highlight of Season 17 for many players.
Unfortunately, the game's two most recent maps, Broken Moon and Storm Point, will be removed from the rotation for the time being. However, Respawn has confirmed that they will be making changes to those maps in the midseason update, although it's unclear what those changes will be at this time.
Despite the lack of details on the midseason update, Apex Legends fans have a lot to look forward to in Season 17. With three maps available in both ranked and casual game modes, players will have plenty of opportunities to hone their skills and explore the game's various POIs. And with the new Ballistic legend also set to join the game, there's sure to be plenty of excitement and action for players to enjoy.
