One of Europe's leading League of Legends Championship (LEC) team KOI has reportedly made a significant change to its starting lineup for the upcoming Summer Split. According to a recent report by BLIX.gg, the team's support player Adrian "Trymbi" Trybus will not play in the roster for the LEC 2023 Spring Split. This decision comes after KOI’s mediocre performance in the previous split, and the team is now looking to shake things up and find new ways to succeed in the LEC.
KOI Is Looking For Options To Replace Trymbi
Trymbi, who played an integral role in KOI's performance in the LEC Spring Split, will reportedly be replaced by a new support player. Several players are being considered for the role, including Henk "Advienne" Reijenga of Fnatic and Théo "Zoelys" Le Scornec of LDLC OL. Notably, the report also mentions that KOI has also interviewed Martin "Rekkles" Larsson, who was recently benched by Fnatic, for the support position.
According to the LoL global contract database, both Rekkles and Trymbi are signed to their respective teams until November 2024, but it is possible for their contracts to be bought out by rival squads.
The decision to replace Trymbi comes after KOI put forth a mediocre performance in the LEC Spring Split. In the group stage of the LEC Spring Split, KOI finished in the sixth position with a 4-5 scoreline. However, G2 Esports eliminated KOI in the playoffs. The move to replace Trymbi is a clear sign that KOI is looking to make significant changes to its lineup in order to improve its performance in the upcoming Summer Split.
The report also indicates that, in anticipation of the Summer Split, TSM and a couple of other teams are also making some changes to their team lineups.
KOI's decision to replace Trymbi in the starting lineup for the LEC Summer Split is a significant change that could potentially have a major impact on the team's performance. While the move is undoubtedly a risk, it is a clear indication that KOI is committed to improving and staying competitive in the LEC.
