Velocity Gaming has been eliminated from VALORANT Challengers 2023: South Asia (VCL 2023: SA) Split 1 after facing a defeat from God’s Reign in the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals of the tournament. The first map of the series, Ascent, saw both teams going head-to-head in a closely contested match. Velocity Gaming started strong, taking an early lead with a score of 8-4. Velocity Gaming maintained its consistency and only lost two rounds in the second half of the map, ultimately securing the first map to its name with a 13-6 scoreline.

The second map, Pearl, was a must-win for Gods Reign to stay alive in the tournament. In the first half of the tournament, both teams put forth a cutthroat performance, resulting in a 6-6 scoreline. Both the team maintained their consistency in the second half of the map, winning rounds back and forth. However, Gods Reign triumphed in the end, winning the map with a 13-11 scoreline.

With their tournament hopes on the line, Velocity Gaming and Gods Reign entered the third and final map, Lotus. Both the teams showed an impressive performance in the first half of the map, but Gods Reign managed to secure a two-points lead, resulting in a scoreline of 7-5. Velocity Gaming fell short in the second half of the map as well, despite its valiant efforts. The map closed with a scoreline of 13-10. Gods Reign became the winner of the match, whereas Velocity Gaming marked its exit from the tournament.

The defeat was undoubtedly a disappointing one for Velocity Gaming, who had high hopes coming into the tournament.
