The team has shared a statement publicly regarding a data breach that took place just after a hack in an employee’s account. GSC Game World, the developer of the very next horror-themed RPG game set, requested fans to wait for the game’s actual release date to arrive soon. It is also requested to the fans not to watch leaked images or video surfacing from the incident.
The company also said that recently, their employee’s account was hacked. They also added that the responsibility for this was claimed by a community from a Russian social network. They are threatening to use the collected data for blackmail as well.
The team based in Prague has experienced blackmail, aggression, hacks, attempts to hurt players and fans and efforts to damage the development process or the company’s goodwill. It also says that the events of the war in Ukraine are more terrifying.
The team says to the fans that in the event of any leaks, they want their fans to refrain from watching or distributing information about STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl. It also says that many of these materials may be outdated or are under development and these things encourage players to stay patient and wait for the game’s release so that they get the best possible experience out of that.
