Although Assassin's Creed Nexus has not yet received an official announcement from Ubisoft, a recent report suggests the developer is already working on a follow-up to the VR title. A dedicated Assassin's Creed game for the Oculus Quest 2 was announced by Ubisoft for 2020. Since then, a lot has changed, but the game is still anticipated for Meta Quest 2, which has undergone a name change. Tom Henderson, the exclusivity agreement was just cancelled due to budget cuts at Meta. Assassin's Creed Nexus may be made available on new platforms, such as PlayStation VR, although it will still be launched on the Meta Quest 2.

The fascinating thing about the situation is that Ubisoft expects Nexus to perform incredibly well as a VR game and has already started internal conversations regarding Nexus 2. Even though it's very early, this suggests that Ubisoft intends to release the sequel on various VR headsets in the future. According to insiders, Assassin's Creed Nexus will be unveiled in June and will follow Assassin's Creed Mirage in September 2023.

Henderson continues by claiming that the development of Assassin's Creed Nexus is too far advanced for changes to be made and that the game will probably continue to be a Meta exclusive. Ubisoft is currently thinking about creating a sequel that would be available across several platforms. Evidently, the corporation has high hopes for Nexus and intends to capitalise on its popularity with a sequel. Henderson hypothesises that the sequel might have even more fan favourites given that Assassin's Creed Nexus will reportedly include several playable characters from throughout the series' history.

Readers are advised to treat this information with caution until an official announcement, as they should with any rumour. Although Henderson has a pretty good track record when it comes to leaks like this, plans in the video game industry are always subject to change. In spite of a previous announcement from more than two years ago, the VR game in question in this story may have a sequel. Hopefully, Assassin's Creed Nexus will have an official reveal soon, which will help to explain everything.

Of course, there is a very good chance that there will be another Assassin's Creed VR game. The franchise has always been one of Ubisoft's most lucrative, and the firm needs some financial victories. Fans will simply have to wait to see what is revealed for the time being.
