The Stinger, a cheap SMG in the game, has garnered newfound interest in light of recent improvements to the Spectre in patch 5.12 of Valorant. The Stinger has emerged as a popular option in the second round of each half because to its increased damage output at closer ranges and additional burst firing mode for medium range. Riot Games, however, became aware of the Stinger's rising popularity and announced nerfs for it in the impending patch 6.02. Here is all the information you require.

Despite constantly being around, Stinger was hardly ever used. But in the middle of 2022, some elite players and professionals began employing stingers in half-buy rounds. In patch 5.06, developers also improved this weapon. But the majority of gamers switched to stinger when developers chose to nerf spectre in patch 5.12. Stinger outperforms Spectre, which costs 1600 creds, and cost only 950 creds. Therefore, it is without a doubt the superior choice.

On Twitter, Valorant announced that they would be nerfing Stinger in the future release. They claimed the weapon was too powerful for the price. As a result, they are raising the cost and altering the harm output. Devs stated: that they’re raising the price of the Stinger and modifying the damage fall-off in time for Patch 6.02 after a few weeks of tracking. In their opinion, the Stinger overperforms for its price point, particularly in the early rounds, and does not make the appropriate economic trade-offs."

Stinger changes for Patch 6.02:

Cost increased 950 >>> 1100

Damage Fall-off Change:
27 damage per bullet (0 - 15m)
23 damage per bullet (15m+)

Previously:
27 damage per bullet (0 - 20m)
25 damage per bullet (20m+)

The price of the stinger is going up by developers, from 950 to 1100. Currently, it deals 25 damage per round in the 20-meter range and 27 damage per bullet in the 0-20-meter range for damage adjustments. They are raising the falloff in damage. After the patch, it will deliver 23 damage per round if the target is more than 15 metres away and 27 damage per bullet between 0 and 15 metres.

As previously stated, 6,02 PBE was cancelled owing to a few problems. Devs therefore sought to alert VCT rivals as soon as possible before VCT LOCK/IN. It's not unusual in Valorant for a weapon to gain popularity and cause certain player's trouble. Early in 2021, we had to weaken Bucky because his right-click was very potent and could only take out adversaries at a small angle. And Judge started annihilating players in the middle of 2021. They were all less expensive and far over powerful for their price range.

Attackers who previously had access to most abilities and full shields with their stinger will now have to reduce their defence to just a half shield. Although it's not altogether a negative notion, it will make them much more defenceless. The Stinger's overall damage output will be reduced as the damage fall-off increases, but it will still cause havoc at close range. Players will need to have accurate aim and a little bit of luck to be able to land headshots and obtain kills, but the burst fire mode and spray pattern remain unaltered, allowing it to still be deadly at a distance.
