According to reports, LEGO is barring submissions with The Legend of Zelda themes from its user-generated LEGO Ideas platform. Video games by Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda franchise are incredibly well-liked. It should come as no surprise that many The Legends of Zelda fans also enjoy LEGO and have produced stunning models to submit through LEGO Ideas. However, these fans will have to wait until LEGO and Nintendo have resolved the problem.

BrickFanatics is the source of the information regarding The Legend of Zelda's alleged prohibition of LEGO Ideas. The Legend of Zelda-themed projects will no longer be accepted on the platform, according to the website devoted to LEGO, and all entries will be rejected. A "license conflict" is cited as the cause of this, but it wasn't a problem before recently. It's unclear why the partnership between Nintendo and LEGO changed.

This translates to the fact that all currently submitted The Legend of Zelda-themed LEGO models have been disapproved on the LEGO Ideas website. According to BrickFanatics, at least eight different fan creations based on The Legend of Zelda have previously received 10,000 votes on LEGO Ideas. This is the minimum standard required to get a review from the LEGO team. All of these have finally been disapproved. Future The Legend of Zelda projects won't even have the chance to be reviewed.

It's likely, according to BrickFanatics, that this is excellent news for fans of The Legend of Zelda. While the future realization of fan-made entries may be hindered, the choice to outlaw them may have been made because Nintendo and LEGO have decided to release official sets. Although it wouldn't entirely make up for supporters being unable to submit their ideas, it would be an improvement.

Fans must regretfully admit that Nintendo may just be putting a stop to this. Submissions for The Legend of Zelda on LEGO Ideas could be considered as LEGO appropriating Nintendo's intellectual property (IP) since Nintendo is known for being protective of its properties. Fans of Nintendo and LEGO should certainly have lesser expectations, while we can all hope for the best.
