With VCT 2023, Valorant is stepping into a new era for the professional scene. Franchised teams are always on the search for new talent because it has been determined that the Partnership Program will be the tournament's heart and soul for the next five years. Out of the 10 rosters chosen by Riot Games, Fnatic is one of the partnered teams. With that said, the roster has undergone a few modifications and is now prepared for the start of VCT 2023 with new members in the squad.
Due to the team's successful 2021 season, the player and the rest of the former Gambit Esports lineup garnered a lot of attention in the offseason. Gambit finished second at Valorous Champions 2021 after taking first place at VCT Stage 3 Masters Berlin, the first international competition they were eligible for. The team lost its form in 2022 and failed to compete in any international competitions. Due to the players having to compete under the neutral name M3 Champions for the majority of the season, Chronicle and his team were also impacted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Since the team's participation in Valorant Champions 2022 came to a close, Fnatic has been on a tour. The team has participated in exhibition games all over the world and most recently participated in the Superdome post-season tournament circuit. While Chronicle was being recruited, the team showcased another fresh addition, Leo "Leo" Jannesson, and played against James "Mistic" Orfila, who was on the bench.
For the forthcoming season, Fnatic appears to be placing a big bet on youth. The organization's most recent signing, Chronicle, is the oldest at 20 years old. Except for Jake 'Boaster' Howlett, the team's in-game captain, every member of the group is under 21. One of the ten teams in the Riot Games-partnered league in EMEA is Fnatic, and at the VCT Kickoff tournament in Brazil in February, the team will showcase its full roster against other partnered opponents. The Valorant offseason will last until February, giving Fnatic plenty of time to bolster their roster.
Given that, it can be assumed that Fnatic's current roster will be a winning combination. One of the few groups to announce the confirmed roster much later was the EMEA group. The final rosters of other well-known teams from the same area have been announced, with NAVI adding cNed to their lineup.
