A recent PlayStation leak has almost definitively established the resurrection of a PS1 classic, which is most likely to happen through PlayStation Plus Premium. The aforementioned game has its roots in 2001, a year that also saw the release of games like GTA 3, Halo: Combat Evolved, Metal Gear Solid 2, Devil May Cry, SSX Tricky, and Super Smash Bros.

There have been many fantastic games released, including Melee. One of the best gaming years ever was that one. It was also the year Syphon Filter 3, a PlayStation classic that wasn't as well received as the games mentioned above but was nevertheless released, debuted. As you may be aware, its two predecessors have already been made available on PS4 and PS5 through PS Plus Premium, so the announcement of the third game is not altogether unexpected.

Despite not having been formally confirmed on PS4 and PS5, The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea have given Syphon Filter 3 a rating for the systems. In other words, South Korea is getting ready for the PS4 and PS5 releases of the game. If this seems familiar, it's because the same exact method was used to leak the PS4 and PS5 versions of the first two games.

On November 6, 2001, Bend Studio, the studio best known today for Days Gone, released Syphon Filter 3, a third-person stealth game with a third-person shooter. The game received a 73 on Metacritic when it first came out. We don't know how well it sold, but it was sufficient for the series to go on. However, it is dormant in the present day.
