Kai Cenat, who now has the most subscribers on Twitch, has been at the centre of controversy ever since his most recent stream, during which a woman's personal information and discord details were unintentionally revealed in front of thousands of people. The event happened yesterday and generated a lot of buzz in the neighbourhood because the woman in question spoke some offensive things about the streamer.
The leak by Kai Cenat sparks discussion regarding a streamer's obligation to the community, Livestreaming while engaging with strangers might go wrong, especially if there's a chance that damaging leaks could occur. Exactly that occurred yesterday while Twitch celebrity Kai Cenat was broadcasting Valorant. The broadcaster encountered a woman in the game, and after exchanging racially inflammatory words with her, she decided to provide her Discord data. After she supplied him, with the information inadvertently broadcasting it to hundreds of people, Kai's viewers began to spam her information in the chat.
Many believed the woman was discriminating against the streamer based on race. But this apparently caused online harassment for a different woman with the same name. A Redditor by the name of RemiBleu shared a video and a few screenshots of the woman who was misidentified as a racist stream user. The pictures and a video of Kai Cenat disclosing the information have gone viral on the Reddit community r/LivestreamFail. Unsurprisingly, a lot of people began to weigh in on who should take the blame for the abuse.
Redditors disagreed over whether to accuse Kai Cenat or not, with many arguing that he wasn't to blame and shouldn't be held accountable for circumstances that were beyond his control. Others contend that a streamer is in charge of the behaviour that their community exhibits. Kai Cenat has had a tremendously successful year on Twitch after quickly moving up the streamer ladder. He beat out top streamers like xQc and became the most subscribed channel on the platform in a matter of months.
