Despite AMD’s release of the Ryzen 7000 two weeks ago, the company is providing Ryzen 5000 a sweet game combo for previous-generation CPUs only. This deal features the all-new PC port of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection coming soon on October 19th.

For pre-purchase, the game is available on Steam at $49.99. This is a sweet buy for those who are looking to grab this offer and also want a CPU upgrade at the same time. The qualifying CPUs include the Ryzen 9 5950X, 5900X, Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 5800X, 5700X, Ryzen 5 5600X, 5600, 5500 and 5400. But remember, AMD’s Ryzen 5000 G series APUs do not qualify for this game bundle.

The game collection features new PC-ported versions of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Since its release in 2016, Uncharted 4 has been one of the top-rated games of all time despite coming out exclusively on PlayStation. Presently, in order to experience its highly-acclaimed storyline and gameplay, PC gamers can straightaway jump into the Uncharted universe for the very first time.

This is quite interesting that AMD limited this combo deal solely to previous-generation Ryzen 5000 series processors this time. It is a good decision indeed to add this combo deal to Ryzen 5000 as well as Ryzen 7000 series parts combined. But supposedly, AMD might have other plans too.

It can be guessed for now that AMD is trying to sell off as much Ryzen 5000 inventory as possible to make room for more Ryzen 7000 sales volume. Previously, the report suggests that Ryzen 7000 sales are poor with the sales volume that has already plummeted by 70% in Germany, that too within two weeks of Ryzen 7000’s release. The numbers cannot be stated worldwide but we expect that the trend is similar throughout.

AM5’s very high platform costs are part of the Ryzen 7000 problem. Presently, motherboard prices start at $169. These are the cheapest B650 motherboards you can find, and a good B650 or X670 series motherboard prices are somewhat between $250 to $350 range.

In fact, AMD’s last-gen Ryzen 7 5800X3D is in competition with Ryzen 7000 parts featuring similar gaming performance to the new chips and easily runs on cheaper motherboards namely B450, B550, and cheaper DDR4 memory.

Perhaps once Ryzen 5000 stocks begin to dwindle, Ryzen 7000 will have an increase in demand. But by then, AMD will have Raptor Lake to contend with as well.
