Modern graphics processors have plenty of features and capabilities that even hardcore gamers and tweakers have difficulties finding the proper setting to achieve desirable performance. It is where one enthusiast claims that his professionally tuned performance profiles come in.
A third-party utility which is the upcoming Radeon Monster Profile (RMP), is being created by Yuri Bubliy and this will boost the performance of AMD's RDNA2 GPUs via voltage/frequency curve modifications. The creator also stated that the app can boost a Radeon RX 6800 XT up to the level of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3090 Ti but in a particular benchmark that does not reveal a lot about the broader picture.
There are a whole lot of performance features offered by AMD's Adrenaline software for Radeon graphics processors which overvolt the GPU for overclocking. Moreover, AMD's pack of FidelityFX features like FSR 2.0, boost the performance of Radeon graphics cards. In spite of that, the Radeon Monster Profile developed by Yuri Bubliy claims to provide more tweaked performance.
On the basis of the tests done by the developer, an increase in the performance of Radeon RX 6800 XT is seen in 3D Mark: Time Spy tests by almost 13% over stock, bringing it up the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti level. This is a great way to improve one of the best graphics cards if it works as promised.
Bubliy says that the Radeon Monster Profile is a combination of unique settings and a new volt-frequency curve for Radeon RX 6000-series graphics chips.
The result as per the developer is that RMP increases GPU frequency by 300 MHz without any harm led in the factory settings for thermal throttling and fans. It is true that a 300 MHz overclocking needs a decent cooling system and thus, as the maker does not urge the owner to purchase an aftermarket cooler for AMD's reference graphics cards, he puts more emphasis on the non-reference boards so that these should be good with the profile.
It is quite natural for all of us to want a boost in the performance of our gear through simple software utilities, but we should not expect too much as the claims have been made as per a single benchmark. Seeing is believing especially when it is a big claim like this. The utility is due but we need to wait a bit more for updates.
