During an Apex Legends live, Dr. Disrespect learned the reason Activision fired him from his Call of Duty collaboration. Since the streamer announced he's releasing his own game, Deadrop, the situation between Dr Disrespect and Activision has gotten worse over time.
After streaming Call of Duty for five years, Dr. Disrespect's partnership with the game appeared to be lost due to a Twitch ban in 2020. Dr. Disrespect claimed to have discovered the reason why "Activision doesn't want to work with the Doc" during an Apex Legends stream with fellow creators CouRage and niko1f.
He asserted that he talks "too much trash" about Call of Duty, which is why the publisher no longer wants to work with him. Although that is true, he believes it is unfair that this would result in the loss of the collaboration because he has been consistently critical of Modern Warfare 2. "How many times have I complimented the game? How long have I been working with the franchise? For years and years and years," he said.
He made a joke about how his name Doc and the initials of the video game Call of Duty are opposites to lighten the mood. 'Everyone knows that COD spelled backward is Doc, and Doc spelled backward is COD, right? It’s in the blood.’ Following that, Dr. Disrespect returned to his platform to attack Activision, labelling them "a bunch of phonies." A viewer who said that he is not a sellout also expressed agreement with him, and he stated of Activision: "That's true, they do look for sellouts." That much is certain.
Dr. Disrespect also gave an explanation of why he had so harsh criticism for the Call of Duty franchise while he waited for CouRage and niko1f to complete the game. He stated that he has no plans to work with Activision in the future and that everything is done out of love and will remain that way. "What, am I supposed to completely sell out my whole soul? Hell no, man, 'he murmured. In addition to the overall Call of Duty collaboration scandal, Dr. Disrespect has charged the series of stealing one of Deadrop's skins. Activision has been silent the entire time, however the skin that is a part of the Malware tracer pack appears to still be accessible on Vanguard and Warzone.
