This month, OTK Rift, a League of Legends competition with well-known streamers, will return. The most recent iteration of the competition will take place on September 16, 2022, according to a tweet last week from esports company OTK and streamer Emily "Emiru" Schunk. There is a sizable prize fund of $25,000 available.
At 12 p.m. PT/2 p.m. CST/3 p.m. ET, Emiru will host the entire competition live on her Twitch account. One True King Rift's inaugural edition was a significant occasion. It took place in March 2022, and 40 streamers participated in total. On the Summoner's Rift, well-known names like Thomas Chance "Sodapoppin" Morris, Felix "xQc" Lengyel, Matthew "Mizkif" Rinaudo, and Blaire "QTCinderella" competed against one another.
The team captains for OTK Rift September 2022 have been named, and Sykkuno is anticipated to continue playing for the reigning champions.
OTK has released a list of the captains for the forthcoming League of Legends competition even though the complete teams have not yet been revealed. Some new names have been added to the list, and some players from the previous iteration have returned.
The upcoming tournament's team captains are:
Erobb221
Tectone
ClintStevens
Filian
Mizkif
Sodapoppin
Ludwig
Buddha
The teams have not yet been formally introduced. Team Buddha won the inaugural OTK Rift tournament with Buddha playing top lane, Harry playing jungler, Blaustoise playing mid, Sykkuno playing support, and xQc playing carry. Streamer Thomas "Sykkuno" has discussed the prospect of joining his former team, who are the current champions. Buddha wants to keep his team's championship. According to what Sykkuno mentioned to Lily "LilyPichu" Ki, a fellow content creator, in a recent stream, he may even be trying to reunite the group.
Sykkuno responded to Lily's attempt to guilt-trip him into joining her squad by saying:
"You see Lily. Here is what happened. Remember how I told you that I had won that exact tournament with a certain team. And I specifically said I'll join your team if my champion-winning team doesn't reform? Remember that?"
LilyPichu's plea was politely denied by Sykkuno, who noted how odd it would be if the reigning champions did not attend the competition:
she continued to say that,"Cus specifically like, it would be really weird if the winning team didn't show up to the tournament again, right? I mean that'd strange. You know, like? The defending champions didn't show up. That would be just kinda weird, you know? Like the defending champions."
The OTK Rift announcement has received overwhelmingly favourable feedback from fans and esports personalities. Fans of Sykkuno wished to see him return to the competition in large numbers. Since numerous well-known streamers are anticipated to participate, the event is anticipated to receive a lot of media coverage.
