Recently, a reduction was applied to the Meta Quest 2 virtual reality headset, thereby bringing the price back down to the original suggested retail price. At the beginning of August, the Quest 2 128GB and 256GB variants saw a hefty price increase, going from $300 to $400 and $500, respectively.

The 128GB Quest 2 is currently on sale at GameStop for just $300, and the 256GB version is available for $400. Although it wouldn't have been a month ago, it is still a significant discount. Additionally, you receive a free copy of the outstanding rhythm game Beat Saber. This offer may soon be sold out. The 128GB variant was similarly discounted on Amazon, but the stock rapidly ran out.

Meta Quest 2

The Meta Quest 2 is widely regarded as a fantastic combination of cost and simple design if you've been considering getting into VR gaming. Its all-in-one design enables you to install games onto it and begin playing right away, so you don't need to tie it to a console or a PC. The Quest 2, an upgrade over the first model, offers more pixels and new Touch controllers with better ergonomics and easy controls that recognize every gesture.

If you do have a PC that can run VR games, you may use a Meta Link connection to connect your Quest 2 to it and gain access to a fresh selection of immersive games. You can also secure yourself for metaverse events like movies and concerts. The Beat Saber game that comes with the package is still among the best VR experiences and workouts available. It's basically an upbeat version of Guitar Hero where you use laser swords to strike musical notes while trying to keep a rhythmic tempo.

In case you feel like waiting, Meta is anticipated to release a high-end headset (Project Cambria) in the near future, which will probably be significantly more expensive than the Quest 2.
