The Sony Xperia 5 IV was unveiled as a part of IFA 2022, a yearly technology expo held in Germany, just a few weeks after its predecessor. The Xperia 5 IV is now being released.

This indicates that it features the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, three 12 MP cameras on the back, a 12 MP camera up front, 30 W charging, and all the same helpful Sony applications that the Xperia 1 IV had a few months earlier.

The Mark 4 is relatively small than previous Xperia 5 smartphones, with a 6.1-inch display that is not in 4K, and the battery has also been downsized to accommodate the slimmer chassis.

Unless one is familiar with Sony phones, one will notice that this is standard practise as the Xperia 5 has always been a more compact version of the Xperia 1. Each of the improvements that the Xperia 1 IV gained over the Xperia 1 III, including a brighter display, the ability to capture 4K 120Hz video on all quad camera, and the new Music Pro software, are available here with the exception of the Sony Xperia 5 IV.

A 60mm telephoto zoom lens on the Sony Xperia 5 IV can bring a topic just over 2 times closer to us. That clearly isn't the Xperia 1 IV's continuous 85mm-125mm zoom or even the Mark 3 phones' adaptive 70mm-105mm telephoto, which can switch among these two focal lengths.

Even if it makes perfect sense that the function is not really in the phone because it probably takes a huge amount of space and wouldn't integrate with this comparatively tiny mobile, it's still disappointing.

Consequently, although there are several software updates that will enhance the Sony Xperia 5 IV's camera well over Mark 3 in certain aspects, it is not as excellent for zooming as its forerunner or its larger sister. Surprisingly little improvements over its predecessor are made by the Sony Xperia 5 IV without any of the continuous optical zoom cameras.

Some new Sony applications are available, the screen is a little bit brighter, and the processor is a little bit more powerful. However, when compared to other improvements, these are really little.

Remember that the Sony Xperia 5 III has had a year of price reductions and promotions (In certain countries, like the US, it really only started operating at the starting of 2022.S). It is now more affordable to purchase, and given that the new edition doesn't have many additional enhancements, it may be more alluring to do so.

It stands to reason that the function is missing, but it's also unfortunate because the Sony Xperia 1 IV would have found itself in the same situation without the continuous optical zoom. As a result, it's doubtful that the Sony Xperia 5 IV will be on our list of.
