Inspite of having a powerful handheld PC, Steam Deck users are using it like an upgraded Nintendo Switch.

Valve has released a list of the most played games on the handheld and it includes those games that are also available on Nintendo's console. Vampire Survivors has secured the top position and the rest of the games like Cult of the Lamb, Stardew Valley, Hades, Skyrim, and Monster Hunter Rise work well on Nintendo's handheld. But it can be said that the Switch owners must have a wish to get a version of Spider-Man and Elden Ring that did not run like a trash or through cloud streaming.

The Steam Deck is truly the answer for a Nintendo Switch form factor that can handle modern games. The only thing is that it's hardware impacts the battery life.

Unfortunately, the above-mentioned games are neither Steam's most popular competitive FPS games nor first-person except Skyrim. Using fingers to compete in a CS: GO match against mouse and keyboard players seems totally futile. Non-FPS games make more sense: Multiverse has cross-play with consoles thus playing it on a Steam Deck is not punishing.

Games having anti-cheat software need a little more work from the developers to add compatibility and this is the reason why Multiversus has flourished. On the other hand, Destiny 2 hasn't. Bungie still has no plans to add Steam Deck support and will punish you if you try to play it.

Steam Deck is not solely a better Nintendo Switch but can be a Nintendo handle too. This week, a Twitter user named GameXData showed a 3DS game on the Steam Deck that emulated its second screen. Even Nintendo's own console cannot do that.

10% of Steam's huge library of games can be played on the Steam Deck. This year's biggest games are not only playable but also being played and if you bring it together with its amazing emulation capabilities, it really seems like the handheld to get.
