A leaker having a good track record has uploaded the first image of Nvidia's upcoming GeForce RTX 4080 Founders Edition graphics card. There's not much details that have been found out yet but the board seems to be brand-new.
Previously, Elysian Realm was accurate with the information about Nvidia's Ampere back in March 2020 and the leaker is back again with an alleged picture of Nvidia's next GeForce RTX 4080 Founders Edition board. The image comes from an unofficial source consisting of a good track record. The picture raises a lot of questions as well.
The board still continues to use the design language of the GeForce RTX 30-series products. Another thing that seeks attention is the strange font used for the '4080' model number. This might not be the fake image as the font corresponds to the font Nvidia uses on its website.
The card is something different. The board is dual-wide but seems as tall and long like the GeForce RTX 3090/3090 Ti. It also has a different fan with a refined blade design that can be called a new board. But the fan needs to be as big as the one on the GeForce RTX 3090 and is even thicker than the one used by the dual-slot GeForce RTX 3080.
As per a previous leak, the model RTX 4080 should be based on the AD103 graphics processing unit. Boards based on it do not require a cooling system flagship board. Whereas, AD103 is made more power hungry than Nvidia's GA103/104 thus, the usage of a 'taller' dual-wide heatsink seems to be justified.
The card is definitely something new but still we cannot state for sure that this is the upcoming GeForce RTX 4080 board.
