At Gamescom 2022, Sony recently unveiled their brand-new DualSense Edge controller. The producer of Japanese home video game consoles hasn't released a lot of details about the innovative DS Edge design. However, as the launch date for the controller approaches, additional details will be made available to the public.

In a brief 36-second clip, the designers presented the new controller, featuring its revamped look. Console players will be able to perfect their aim and control with the new controller's sophisticated customization options. 

The Dual Sense Edge controller's features 

Sony hasn't updated a mid-gen controller before, but that will change with the release of the Dual sense Edge. Users have benefited from hardware updates over time that enable improved graphic fidelity and in-game resolutions. Typically, the manufacturer uses the same controller architecture for a whole generation. The console manufacturer verified the suspicions with a brief trailer, even though the controller had been supposed to be available for some time. 

The controller has a design aesthetic reminiscent of the original PS5 controller from the year 2020. The DS Edge's joysticks, however, each have a pedal. There are certainly many games where these pedals can be used in inventive ways. The Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, for example, has pedals that are plainly displayed. However, Microsoft's premium controller model costs more than $200. 

According to Sony, their new controller is as follows: 

The commute distance and dead zones for each trigger can be adjusted to your requirements. In fast-paced FPS games, you can manually shorten the triggers' travel distance, and in racing games, you can manually shorten the dead zone for more accurate throttle control. 

Minor design upgrades are also included with the DS Edge controller. The joysticks' black color scheme has been carried over to the touchpad. In addition, it has four geometrical textures from the PlayStation brand that resemble the side plates of the system. 

The D-pad buttons and the four geometric forms have also been changed, and they are now painted in black. Compared to the original Dual Sense controller, the RGB LED on either side of the touchpad flashes more continuously. Additionally, Sony has enhanced this next controller's customizability. With the new PS5 controller, users can readily access the joysticks by just removing the lid, which would have previously required significant prying. The joysticks may be removed and the caps easily replaced to the user's desire once the black plastic plate has been taken off. 

Overall, the upcoming controller design will add a few key elements that will improve the gameplay experience and scope for customization. We do not have pricing information on this upcoming DS Edge. However, users can expect it to be pricier than the original PS5 controller.
