On August 12, during the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2022, hunting enthusiasts were
treated to the final trailer for Way of the Hunter, which also gave gamers a glimpse at
several forthcoming titles, including Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed.

The two-minute music-filled montage gave viewers extensive sweeping landscapes, a range
of beasts and creatures, and a glimpse at a selection of weapons for the realistic hunting
simulator Way of the Hunter. It is an exclusive hunting game for Playstation 5, Xbox X/S, and
PC, created by Nine Rocks Studios. Players are free to roam 110 square miles of hunting
territory in the game's solo and multiplayer co-op modes as they travel to the hunting
grounds of the Northwest Pacific region of the United States, along with Transylvania in
Europe.

On August 16, 2022, hunters will be able to start their brand-new hunting experience. The
Way of the Hunter trailer teased gamers with fast-moving travel vehicles, a range of diverse
biomes, a wealth of ducks and geese, and many creatures racing through the countryside. It
also showcased beautiful sunsets. To provide a genuinely immersive hunting experience, it
also boasts a 24-hour day/night cycle, accurate ballistics and gunshot effects, and lifelike
behavior models for species. Similar features can be found in games like Red Dead
Redemption 2.

Nine Rocks Studios, based in Bratislava, Slovakia, was founded by veterans of the game
business from THQ Nordic and Slovakia who worked on Soldiers of Fortune 3 and DayZ.
After being developed by THQ Nordic in the early 2020s, Way of the Hunter will be the
studio's first game to be released. Nine Rocks Studios initially revealed that they were
developing a survival shooter-style game, but on April 21, 2022, they showed their hunting
simulation in an announcement trailer.

It's not a small task for a studio's first release to compete with titles like Hunting Simulator
2, Cabela's: The Hunt - Championship Edition, and even Prehistoric Hunt. Recently, there
haven't been many noteworthy hunting simulator games available, so players are searching
for something to catch their interest. However, they are also weary of studios over-
promising and then under-delivering, as Battlefield 2042 did at launch.

Way of the Hunter has a lot of promises to keep, but by putting the capabilities of the
upcoming console generation ahead of the capabilities of the previous generation, it may
already be ahead of the other hunter simulators. Bullet time, shot reviews and rewindable
cameras aren't new to the genre, but Way of the Hunter might figure out how to keep
players interested by fusing them with a distinctive award system designed to keep players
interested while they search for the ideal prize.
