The DioField Chronicle, Square Enix's next RPG, will be available in September. The fantasy strategy
RPG is characterized as having real-time combat and a hard-hitting narrative. The developers of
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange, developer Lancarse and Square Enix collaborated together in the
creation of this game. The result is an intriguing blend of traditional JRPG influences, like Final
Fantasy Tactics, with real-time tactical action comparable to Valkyria Chronicles. RPG enthusiasts
may now test out The DioField Chronicle after the release of a new demo.
he demo for The DioField Chronicle has been made available by Square Enix on platforms such as
the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. A portion of the game as well as
the three difficulty settings—casual, normal, and hard—will be included in the demo. The demo will
have about three hours of total playtime. However, that amount may grow if you play it more once
on the different difficulty settings. Additionally, the saved data from the demo shall be transferred
over to the full version of The DioField Chronicle, upon release.
More specifically, the first five missions from the narrative of The DioField Chronicle will be playable
in the demo. This contains a drawn-out, densely packed prologue that establishes the tone for the
rest of the game. The in-game characters join a mercenary squad and begin undertaking missions,
which kicks off the action. There is more to this gang than meets the eye, and they have
progressively more significant duties ahead of them.
There will naturally be a fighting element to each task. Players will be tasked in The DioField
Chronicle with taking out adversaries, holding onto bases, and dealing with numerous map gimmicks
that shall get altered from mission to mission. Players will have to explore The DioField Chronicle's
depth, but Square Enix has hinted at certain intriguing aspects that are contained in the demo and
could surprise those who play it through to the end.
Even though The DioField Chronicle may not be as expansive an experience as Square Enix's flagship
franchise games such as Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest, this expanding market for RPGs with a
classically inspired aesthetic including Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy has undoubtedly
garnered a fan-following for this genre.
