Given that even non-gamers are familiar with the Pokémon series, it is without a doubt one of the
most recognizable in all of gaming. Pokémon is still a favorite among many players today, who play
every new generation and instalment. This new series of games, called Pokémon Scarlet and Violet,
will undoubtedly be a hit with both seasoned and casual players when it debuts in November.
This industrial presence does have certain disadvantages, though. Even while Pokemon games are
primarily geared at families, some enthusiasts feel that the games are overly child-focused and
poorly made. The fact that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the first open-world games in nine
generations may be proof that many fans think Pokémon games have stagnated, grown too simple,
and continue to hold player's hands throughout. Of course, all of this is debatable, but one
contentious aspect of the Pokémon games are too easy issue could resurface.
The EXP Share has been a staple of Pokémon video games for a while; it first appeared as a
mechanism to grant extra experience to a single Pokémon and then evolved in Sun and Moon into a
switchable method of granting XP to every Pokémon in the party. The EXP Share was included in
Pokémon Sword and Shield as well, but in a move that caused a great deal of criticism, it could not
be disabled. It could not be toggled off in the most recent remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl
either. It's no surprise that reports imply the EXP sharing will return in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet,
but it also appears that it cannot be turned off. It will thus probably function the same way it did in
Pokémon Sword and Shield and BDSP.EXP is allegedly forced on by default, according to a recent
tweet from Pokémon S/V leaker Blaines.
While this doesn't imply that it can't be toggled off, it strongly implies that it cannot. The
words were already written on the walls. There's almost no way that EXP Share won't be a recurring
element in the upcoming generation given how it was put into Pokémon Sword, Shield, Brilliant
Diamond, and Shining Pearl.
It should be noted that, in contrast to the guided excursions of the previous games, it will be
intriguing to watch how the EXP Share affects Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's open universe. Since
level scaling doesn't appear to be present in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, perhaps the EXP Share will
be used more fairly and receive better reception in the upcoming games. Fans should remember
that for the time being, this is only a rumour, but it wouldn't be shocking if it turned out to be true.
